Managing our energy

Everybody has a natural rhythm and energy to our day, but most of us live a 9-5 life that may not play into our natural energy. The more we understand our own natural flow the more we can plan and schedule our day accordingly to get the best out of ourselves and those around us.

Habits

We all have conscious and unconscious habits, and it is harder to change those habits than we realize. Most habits are helpful, or at worst harmless, but what are the habits that we really need to change? And how do we build a new habit into our lives successfully?

Managing upwards

To make the most of the relationships above you, it is necessary to understand the motivations of each of those individuals. We may not always agree with our leaders, but we do need to understand where their choices come from, as well as what we can do to work more effectively with them.

Going through change

For most of us in a modern world, change is inevitable. And most of the time we can adapt successfully. But the bigger the change the harder we may find it, even if we agree with the reason and motivation for the change. Using Elizabeth Kubler Ross's model of change curves, we try to understand our emotions and drivers to be more successful dealing with even the most complicated changes.

Working styles

Everyone works slightly differently, but those differences can create challenges when there is no understanding of why others make different choices. Using the science of Carl Jung as the foundation, the group takes a quiz to understand their own working style and those of their colleagues more deeply.

Avoid procrastination

We all make thousands of small decisions each day, most of them quickly and successfully. But even the most decisive among us can get blocked or trapped on certain tasks or decisions, especially when there is no deadline. We need to know what is blocking us and have tools to move forward.

Building trust

For something we have done our entire lives we are not always aware of how we build trust with those around us. Using the science of Meister, Green and Galford, the group assesses their relationships, such as colleagues or clients, to see how they can develop a healthy trust in those relationships more effectively.

Wellbeing

To be our best at work we must be healthy in every aspect of our life, in body, mind and spirit. But too often this is neglected as our workload and family pressures take over. Sometimes we need a chance to remember what it is that feeds us spiritually and physically, and get back onto a healthy path to be the best person we can be for our work colleagues and our family.

Influencing

Most of us are not in roles where we are officially "influencing" people, such as sales or marketing, but most of us still need to positively influence those around us. Be it getting someone to hit a deadline, or agree to our idea, or change their own plan. If we work in any kind of team then we need to influence others positively and we need to know how to do it well.

Using your strengths

Most of us are good at listing our weaknesses, but we are less aware of our strengths. However, awareness and utilization of our strengths is actually a much more successful tool than trying to "fix" our weaknesses. Utilizing the science of Donald Clifton (The father of strength based psychology) we assess our key strengths and how to build them into our workflow.
